Stewart Plaza on High St, at the Colombo and Hereford intersection. The centre of the freeze is outside Subway and Ripcurl, and will spread outwards from there in all directions. For a street-level image of the location see this map.

It could be chilly, so dress up warm. If it’s wet, bring an umbrella… and if its really wet, the Freeze will move downstairs in the bus exchange, spreading up the stairs and along down the passage to the Colombo St entrance to the exchange…but only if it’s a downpour.

At 12.45pm people will meet in the alley directly opposite the Meridian Mall that links New World and Brumby’s bakery. We’ll go from there.

Lambton Quay: where it hits Grey Street. There’s a big shiny sculpture called ‘Invisible City’ – but what we’ll be doing is anything but invisible. Find some space to freeze in the pedestrian area between Espirit and the Air NZ Holiday shop, as far down as the two banks that sit on opposite sides. We’ll stretch out from that space on to the footpath of Lambton Quay in both directions.

Attention-seekers can also Freeze on the opposite side of Lambton Quay, outside the Body Shop and James Cook Arcade.

It’s going to be a very large crowd, so please spread out! If there’s snow or sleet we’ll freeze under the shop awnings, or you can be cool and freeze in the rain.

Vulcan Lane. Vulcan was the Roman God of Fire and Volcanoes. So it’s Fire meets Freeze this Friday! The power of the elements combine for good effect.

It’s going to be a very large crowd, but there’s no need to huddle. You can freeze on Vulcan Lane or spill out on to Queen St (at the bottom) or High St (at the top) – spreading along those streets in both directions. If there’s snow or sleet we’ll freeze under the shop awnings, or you can be cool and freeze in the rain. Fortunately the weather forecast is good.
